This princess turned 9 years old yesterday! I made her a happy birthday post on my personal facebook page, with WAY too many photos attached, but today I thought that I should commemorate her birthday on my blog. Especially since she is the muse that advanced my photography skills to where they are today. Cordelia, along with my late Willow Bee; the inspawration for starting photography in the first place, hav taught me the importance of professional pet photography.
I admittedly take too many photos of this dog: I've had to upgrade external harddrives multiple times to handle the infinite photos I have taken of her in the last nine years. But I am so glad I took so many photos, because this darn dog has changed SO MUCH over the years. Phone photos are fine: but to have these high quality images of Cordelia from over the years is priceless.
Amidst the growing and coat changes, which make her look like a drastically different dog than I started with nine years ago: she really isn't. Her personality, mannerisms, and expressions really haven't changed at all from her very first puppy photos, all the way through to her most recent photo shoot at the Adelman Peony Garden this May. She is the same goofy, stubborn, too smart for her own good puppy that I brought home 9 years ago.
We'll end with her best trick/pose: sitting pretty. We try to do this one at every photoshoot, but I've realized while uploading them that we've never done it on the beach or in snow. Something to try this year I suppose. We also only ever do this shot as a close up because she simply doesn't stand long enough for me to get far enough back for a wider angle. But that's okay, because at this angle we always see her beautiful brown eyes, and her sweet smile.
