Hello! I'm Lynette, the owner and photographer at Willow Bee Photography LLC. You've probably already read about me on the homepage and in the about section, but I thought for my first blog post I should introduce myself and my pets a little further. I've always been an animal lover. My first pet was a mini lop rabbit named Bun Bun. Unique name, huh? Those who haven't had rabbits before might not know what awesome pets they make. They have their own personalities and are a lot of fun. Since Bun Bun, I've had a hedgehog, parakeets, chickens, cats, dogs, guinea pigs, and even a pair of goats named Dahlia and Daisy. While I haven't had my own horse, I've been around my sister's horses a lot. I currently have two miniature dachshunds named Willow and Cordelia, a formally feral feline named KitKat, and a large lop rabbit named Peter. While my portfolio is mostly dogs, and a few cats, I would love the opportunity to photograph other pets as well. There is no pet too big or small.
While I've loved all my pets, Willow is the inspiration for Willow Bee Photography LLC. I've had Willow for 12 years, and the one regret I have with her is that I don't have any nice photos of her when she was a puppy and and young dog. I started to get into photography when she was two years old, so that I could have nice photos of her. Of course when I first started out I thought the photos were amazing. Looking back I wish I had gotten some with a professional photographer while I was still working on my skills. After lots of time, practice, and patience, I have developed my photography skills and am now consistently thrilled with my work.
In comes Cordelia. I've had Cordelia for three years. You can have love at first sight more than once, right? Once I got Cordelia, Willow wanted nothing to do with the camera, so I had a new model to work with. Cordelia really works it for the camera. She loves going on adventures and posing for the camera. All I have to say is "look at me" and I get results like the photo above. I love being a pet photographer, but I'm definitely spoiled when I photograph her.
This is KitKat. She was a feral barn cat in our neighborhood. She had kittens and I captured them and rehabilitated them to be adopted out. Shortly after is when I got Cordelia. KitKat decided that my new puppy was her kitten, and fell in love with her and Willow. It took a long time before KitKat would let me pet her, but she eventually discovered that if my dogs like me that she should too. I had her spayed so she couldn't have anymore kittens and brought her inside. It took her about a week to get used to indoor life but she is loving it now. I still can't pick her up, but she loves being petted and will sit in my lap, which is a win to me.
